Service Disconnection and Late Penalty Moratorium Ended September 30, 2021
Governor Inslee’s proclamation 20-23.16, which extended the moratorium for charging late fees and shutting off water service, has expired as of September 30, 2021. The District will resume its regular process of charging late fees and disconnecting water service, starting with the billing dated September 30, 2021. If you are experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for support, including extended payment arrangements. The Governor’s proclamation did not relieve customers from the obligation to pay for utility services.
We understand that our customers may be facing financial uncertainty and/or may have suffered sudden job loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The District is unable to forgive outstanding balances, as that is considered a gift of public funds; however, we are offering extended payment arrangements on past due accounts. If you are unable to pay your bill, please contact us by phone at (425) 355-3355 or by email email@example.com. Customers are also encouraged to call 2-1-1 to find resources that may be available for utility customers.
